Overview

When the semester started, I didn't know much about making a web site. I had a class a couple of years ago where we designed a web site for a company in Blackfoot. I didn't really understand much code, and everything I did do was in a WYSIWYG program. I mostly did it in Frontpage because I had access to it and it was pretty easy to use. I tried to use Dreamweaver a little bit, but didn't understand how to do much.

I helped work on little pieces of different pages, then sent them to another student in our group who understood a lot more and had Dreamweaver. It was kind of a crutch for me because I didn't work very hard to learn because he worked on putting it together for us. I feel that I understand a lot more now about how to design the page using html and also controlling the design with css. I hadn't used css at all before, so it is new to me. I still have a lot to learn about it, but I feel that I have gotten quite a bit better at creating web sites. I now have a basic understanding of Dreamweaver, css, and site management.

It has become easier for me to understand Dreamweaver, and what it does as far as organizing and managing the site. It has been very helpful when changing links and pictures and things to update all of them at once. This class has helped me to become more familiar with the different options available in Dreamweaver, as well as how to control and manipulate the style sheets. I have also become more aware of design principles, especially those relating to web pages.

I feel that I have gained a lot of useful information this semester and that it will be beneficial to me. I will now be able to understand things when doing a web site that I didn't before, and even if I don't design very many, this class will have helped me to do better at the few I do design. I have more awareness about it now and have expanded my knowledge, which is the reason for coming to school in the first place.
